The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging awards recognize graduate and undergraduate students who’ve committed to creating a more inclusive culture within Cornell Bowers and broadly in the fields of computing and information science.
Community members recognized for inclusion and belonging efforts
Three faculty members — Adrian Sampson, Allison Koenecke, and Y. Samuel Wang — were named Faculty of the Year in recognition of their outstanding contributions. Six students received Distinguished Leadership Awards: Gemmechu Hassena, Aspen K.B. Omapang, Livia Popa, Lucy Jiang, M.S. ’24, Cornelius Boateng ’24, and Judith Jatto ’25. Additional honors include the Compassionate Leader Award to Kayla Sprayberry ’24, the Most Impactful Student Award to Robyn Burger ’24, and the Community Advocate Award to Derek Sanchez ’24.
