Teaching Professor

  • Overview: The Cornell University Department of Computer Science (CS) in the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science (Bowers) invites applications from outstanding candidates with a passion for undergraduate teaching for a position of Assistant, Associate, or Full Teaching Professor at Cornell’s Ithaca campus.  Teaching Professors are non-tenure track teaching faculty members who are hired on multi-year appointments with the expectation of renewal and promotion. Candidates for the position should hold a PhD in a computing-related field and have demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovation. We are seeking candidates who can teach large lower- and upper-level undergraduate and master’s level courses in AI-related fields.  Any experience with online or distance learning modes of instruction is valued.

Teaching Professor

  • Location: Ithaca
  • Overview: The Cornell University Department of Information Science (IS) in the Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science (Bowers) invites applications for full-time, long-term, open-rank Teaching Professor positions at Cornell’s Ithaca campus. Teaching faculty hired in these positions will be full-time members of the IS Department; a typical full-time (100%) load for a Teaching Professor in IS is two courses per semester. Based on candidate qualifications and experience, the initial appointment will be either a three-year (Assistant Teaching Professor) or five-year (Associate or Full Teaching Professor) appointment. This is a non-tenured professional teaching track with the potential for growth, the expectation of renewal, and eventual promotion for Teaching Professors. We are seeking candidates who will contribute to a mix of undergraduate and masters courses in one or more of the wide range of topics covered by IS.

The department itself is an interdisciplinary partnership that includes the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
