Daisy Fan is a teaching professor of computer science who teaches in the areas of programming, scientific computing, and optimization. Fan's interests include collaborative learning methodologies and technologies in computer science and engineering education, application of systems-analysis techniques for water resources and environmental problems, and development of numerically efficient optimization methods for engineering applications. Problems she has investigated include optimal control of multiple-reservoir operation using stochastic dynamic programming and river basin water quality management.

Kuan Fang is an assistant professor of computer science who conducts research at the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and computer vision. His research aims to enable robots to perform diverse and complex tasks in unstructured environments using deep learning. To achieve this, his lab develops scalable algorithms and systems for robot perception and control with the following focuses: acquiring versatile and generalizable skills for visuomotor control by learning from massive and diverse data; continuously improving the capabilities of robots through autonomous data collection and generation; and boosting generalization to novel tasks, environments, and robots by integrating prior knowledge from broad sources. Fang did his postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley and received his Ph.D. and M.S. from Stanford University. His bachelor's degree is from Tsinghua University. Fang also spent time at the RAI Institute, Google Brain, Google X Robotics, and Microsoft Research Asia. 

Silvia Ferrari is John Brancaccio Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University.  Prior to that, she was Professor of Engineering and Computer Science at Duke University, and Founder and Director of the NSF Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) and Fellowship program on Wireless Intelligent Sensor Networks (WISeNet).  Currently, she is the Director of the Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Controls (LISC) at Cornell University and the co-Director of the Cornell-Unibo Věho Institute on Vehicle Intelligence at Cornell Tech.  Her principal research interests include active perception, robust adaptive control, learning, and approximate dynamic programming, and control of multiscale dynamical systems.

Nate Foster is an adjunct professor of computer science at Cornell University and a visiting researcher at Jane Street. He currently serves as vice chair of DARPA's Information Science and Technology (ISAT) study group, and as chair of the P4 Language Governing Board.  

Peter Frazier received a B.S. in Physics and Engineering/Applied Science from the California Institute of Technology in 2000, after which he spent several years in industry as a software engineer, working for two different start-up companies and for the Teradata division of NCR. In 2005, he entered graduate school in the Department of Operations Research & Financial Engineering at Princeton University, and received an M.A. in 2007 and a Ph.D. in 2009. He joined the faculty at Cornell in 2009 as an Assistant Professor in the School of Operations Research & Information Engineering. His research is in sequential decision-making under uncertainty and optimal methods for collecting information, focusing on applications in simulation and health care. He is the recipient of a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation and a Young Investigator Award from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research.
 

Susan Fussell is a professor in the Departments of Information Science and Communication. Her research focuses on interpersonal communication in face-to-face and computer-mediated contexts. Her goals are to enhance our theoretical understanding of the mechanisms involved in conversational discourse and to apply this theory to the design and evaluation of new communications technologies. Fussell's current research areas include intercultural computer-mediated communication, multi-lingual communication, tools to promote energy-saving behavior, human-robot interaction, and collaborative intelligence analysis. With students and collaborators, she examines these issues within a variety of domains, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Sainyam Galhotra is an assistant professor in computer science. Before that, he was a Computing Innovation Fellow pursuing postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago. The goal of his research is to develop data science tools for effective and responsible analytics.

Kyra Gan is an Assistant Professor in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering and Cornell Tech at Cornell University. Her research interests include adaptive/online algorithm design in personalized treatment (including micro-randomized trials and N-of-1 trials) under constraint settings, computerized/automated inference methods (e.g., targeted learning with RKHS), robust causal discovery in medical data, and fairness in organ transplants. More broadly, she is interested in bridging the gap between research and practice in healthcare.

Nikhil Garg is an assistant professor of operations research and information engineering at Cornell Tech, the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute, and Cornell Engineering. He uses algorithms, data science, and mechanism design approaches to study democracy, markets, and societal systems at large.

Dr. Geri Gay is the Kenneth J. Bissett Professor of Communication at Cornell University and a Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellow. She is also a professor in Information Science and the director of the Interaction Design Lab at Cornell. Her research focuses on social and technical issues in the design and application of interactive communication technologies. Specifically, she is interested in social navigation, persuasive computing, affective computing, social networking, mobile computing, and design theory. Currently, she receives funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Google, National Institute of Health, USDA and private donations.

 
 

Tarleton Gillespie is a senior principal researcher at Microsoft Research, and an affiliated associate professor in the Department of Communication and Department of Information Science at Cornell University. He is the author of Wired Shut: Copyright and the Shape of Digital Culture (MIT, 2007) , co-editor of Media Technologies: Essays on Communication, Materiality, and Society (MIT, 2014), and author of Custodians of the Internet: Platforms, Content Moderation, and the Hidden Decisions that Shape Social Media (Yale, 2018).
 

Paul Ginsparg is a professor of information science and physics. Among his many awards and honors, Ginsparg is a fellow of the MacArthur Foundation, the American Physical Society, the Alfred P. Sloane Foundation, and the Radcliffe Institute, and is a recipient of the Einstein Foundation Berlin Award and the Karl Taylor Compton Medal for Leadership in Physics. He is the founder of arXiv, the preeminent open-access, preprint repository. Ginsparg received an A.B. in physics from Harvard in 1977 and a Ph.D. in physics from Cornell in 1981. He joined the Cornell faculty in 2001. 

Ziv Goldfeld is an assistant professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a graduate field member in Computer Science, Statistics and Data Science, and the Center of Applied Mathematics at Cornell University. Before joining Cornell, he was a postdoctoral research fellow in LIDS at MIT, hosted by Yury Polyanskiy. Ziv graduated with a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. (all summa cum laude) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ben Gurion University, Israel. His graduate advisor was Haim Permuter.

Carla Gomes is the Ronald C. and Antonia V. Nielsen Professor of Computing and Information Science, director of the Institute for Computational Sustainability at Cornell University, and co-director of the Cornell University AI for Science Institute. Gomes received a Ph.D. in computer science in artificial intelligence from the University of Edinburgh. Her research area is AI with a focus on large-scale constraint reasoning, optimization, and machine learning. 

Tanya Goyal is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science. Previously, she was a postdoctoral scholar at Princeton Language and Intelligence Center (2023-2024). Her research interests are primarily in the field of natural language processing. Problems that she is currently excited about include: reliable and sustainable evaluation frameworks for large language models (LLMs); factuality assessment and improvement of LLMs; and understanding LLM behaviors as a function of training data and/or alignment strategies.

Keith Evan Green is the Jean and Douglas McLean Professor of Human Centered Design and professor in the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University. Green is also Graduate Field member in the Department of Information Science. Green's Architectural Robotics Lab (ARL) investigates a new frontier in human-machine interaction: meticulously designed, increasingly intelligent, cyber-physical environments that support and augment us at work, school and home, as we roam, interconnect and age. In architectural robotics, computation is embedded in the physical fabric of our living environments, manifested mostly as robotic devices, furniture and rooms.
