Understanding and improving human-technology interaction.

Cornell's research in human-computer interaction advances three critical areas: interface design, computational social science, and social impact.

Interface design work develops intuitive ways for people to interact with technology, from sensors and mobile devices to robots and complex systems.

Computational social science examines how people interact with computers and each other through technology, analyzing digital behavior to improve information systems.

Social impact explores how computing shapes society, particularly in education, health, and daily life. Through contributions to leading conferences like CHI, CSCW, and WWW, Cornell continues to lead in understanding and enhancing human-technology interaction.
