Our Services

In collaboration with campus partners, our office offers one-on-one and group consultations to support faculty, staff, and students needs in the working and/or learning environment. Consultation services include:

  • Assist in planning programs, events, and services related to Belonging at Cornell.
  • Provide insights on how to incorporate best practices for Belonging at Cornell.
  • Serve as a point of contact to discuss diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging concerns.
  • Complete and submit a bias report on the behalf of faculty, staff, and students.

Our advising services provide personalized support to help you navigate every aspect of your college journey, from academic success to personal wellbeing. Through one-on-one guidance and holistic programming, we empower you to develop your authentic self, achieve your educational and career goals, and create meaningful connections within our campus community. Services include:

  • Guidance on accessing campus resources, support services, and engagement opportunities that align with your interests
  • Social connection strategies to help you build meaningful relationships and find your campus community
  • Mental health and wellness resources with culturally-responsive approaches
  • Career development guidance on potential professional paths and opportunities

 

Our office assists faculty and staff members in securing financial resources that will ensure the sustainability of collegiate initiatives for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Support areas include:

  • Be a thought partner on potential proposals and student sponsorship packages.
  • Provide a letter of support for proposals that incorporate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Serve as a collaborative partner on composing proposals that are focused on broadening participation in computer science, information science, statistics, and data science.

Offered through the Center for Teaching Innovation (CTI), this four-week, instructor-paced online course is for anyone with teaching responsibilities at Cornell, at any level of diversity expertise. Modules explore strategies for inclusive course design, social identity and self-reflection, and pedagogical practices that effectively support student engagement and a sense of belonging across differences.

Diversity Alumni Programs (DAP) help to coordinate the work of our diverse alumni associations, which maintain independent alumni volunteer boards; organize engagement events; conduct fundraising initiatives to support diversity programs on campus; and growing our dynamic diverse alumni community to further inclusion. 

Cornell Mosaic assists the university in meeting its goal of increasing the number of diverse alumni engaged with the university. Mosaic members serve as ambassadors for Cornell’s diverse communities.
